Class 6 Chapter 10 ICT and Computer Ethics

3. Answer the following questions:
a) Define ICT and list the usage of ICT in different fields.
Ans: ICT stands for information and communication technologies. It is the recent technology which process raw data and gives the complete and desired result as information. It is the combined subject of information technology and telecommunication technology.
ICT are used in the different fields such as :
Education, Communication, Banking, E-commerce:
b) What is computer ethics? List any six computer ethics that a user has to follow.
Ans: Computer ethics is a set of moral principles or practical behaviors that regulate the use of ICT. It includes some of common social issues such as intellectual property, privacy concern etc.
Six computer ethics that a user has to follow are as follows:

c) Define telecommunication with example.
Ans: Telecommunication is the transmission of message over a significant distance through the use of mediums such as land line phone, mobile phones, Television, Telex, net phone etc.
d) What is data processing? Why is it needed?
Ans: Data are the raw facts or unprocessed mean which may not given complete sense or meaning. After the data are fed to the computer, they need to process correctly in order to produce desired information called data processing. It is necessary to get desired meaningful information or  result.
e) What is the difference between data and information?
Ans: Data are the raw facts or unprocessed mean which may not given complete sense or meaning.
Information is the meaningful result obtain from the computer after processing raw data.
f) List any four features of information.
Ans: Any four features of information are as follows:
i) Information is desired and meaningful
ii) Information is correct and accurate
iii) Information is able to transmit everywhere
iv) Information is stored for future purpose.
