Introduction to Word Processor (Microsoft Word)
Q.4. Answer the following questions:
a.What is word processor? Write any two word processing software.
Ans: Word processor is a software that allows to create, edit, view, format and print text document in the computer. Eg. Ms-Word, Word Star
b. What is Microsoft word? Write different versions of Ms-Word.
Ans: Ms-Word is one of the most popular word processing software developed by Microsoft Corporation, USA.
c. What are the different components of Word 2016 window?
Ans: The different components of Word 2016 Windows are: File Tab, Ribbon, Quick Access toolbar, Title bar, Status Bar, View bottoms, Zoom, Tell Me, Scrollbar, Working Area etc.
d. Write any four rules while typing text in Ms-word?
Ans: Four rules while typing text in Ms-Word are as follows:
i) Do not press the enter key to start a new line. Ms-Word automatically starts a new line after reaching the end of line.
ii) To start new paragraph press Enter key.
iii) To separate the words in the same line press the space bar.
iv) To type a character in capital letter press and hold shift key while typing.
e. How can you type Nepali text in Ms-Word.
Ans: To type Nepali text in Ms-Word, we need to install Nepali font in our computer.
f. What is meant by editing the document?
Ans: The process of correcting the mistake in the document is called editing the document.
g. What is difference between copying and moving text?
Ans:

1. When you copy the text, The text also stays in the original location and then also gets copied to a new location. 
1) Moving means removing the text from one place to another.
2) Copying means creating a duplicate copy of the text.

h. What is meant by formatting the document?
Ans: The process of changing size and appearance of text to make an attractive document is known as formatting document which include setting the margin, alignment, tab positions, headers and footer etc.
i. What are the different alignment options in Ms-Word?
Ans: The different alignment options in Ms-Word are Left align, Right align, Center align and Justification align.
j. What is meant by proofing document?
Ans: Proofing document is the process of correcting documents by removing undesirable things like spelling check, grammar check, language setting etc to make it error free.
k. What is meant by cursor?
Ans: A blinking vertical line appears in the working area of Ms-Word document is called cursor.
l. What is used of Redo command?
Ans: Redo command is used to retrieve or repeat the previous task that was cancelled by Undo command.
m. What is used of Undo command?
Ans: The use of undo command is to cancel the last action performed on the document.
n. What is the use of find command in Ms-Word?
Ans: Find command is used in Ms-Word to find a particular word in a document.
o. What are bullet and numbering?
Ans: Bullets and numbers are the symbols that can be used to denote list of names, items or heading in Ms-word.
