Answer the following question
a. What is spreadsheet? Write two electronic spreadsheet software.
Ans: Spreadsheet is large sheet of matrix composed with rows and columns. The spreadsheet prepared on the computer is called the electronic spreadsheet. Example: VisiCalc, Ms-Excel
b. What is Microsoft Excel? Write different versions.
Ans: Microsoft Excel is the most widely used spreadsheet software developed by Microsoft corporation USA. The different versions of Microsoft Excel are: Ms-Excel 2000, Ms-Excel 2002, Ms-Excel 2003, Ms-Excel 2007, Ms-Excel 2010, Ms-Excel 2013, Ms-Excel 2016 etc.
c. Mention any four features of Ms-Excel.
Ans: page 88 
d. What are the different components of Excel-2016 window?
Ans: The different components of Excel-2016 window are: Quick Access Toolbar, Title Bar, Tell me, Control buttons, Status Bar, Ribbon, Sheet Tab, Zoom Controls, Formula Bar, Cell, View buttons etc.
e. What is formula? How do you begin any formula in Ms-Excel?
Ans: Formula is a sequence of values, cell references and operators that produces a new value from existing values. To begin any formula in Ms-Excel we have to type is equal sign (=).
f. Write difference between worksheet and workbook.
Ans: The spreadsheet of Excel is known as worksheet and workbook is the document or file which may contain several worksheet.
g. What is cell? How a cell is addressed in Ms-Excel?
Ans: The intersection of row and column forms a small rectangular area called cell. Cell address is formed by combination of column letter and row number. Example A1, B5, C22 etc.
h.What are columns? How many columns are there in Ms-Excel 2016?
Ans: Columns are the vertical divisions of a worksheet that are identified by letters such as A, B, C, D and so on. There are 16384 columns in each single worksheet of Ms-Excel 2016.
i. Define Row and write how many rows are there in Ms-Excel worksheet.
Ans: Rows are the horizontal divisions of a worksheet that are identified by numbers such as 1,2,3,4,5 and so on. There are 1048576 Rows in each single worksheet of Ms-Excel 2016.
j.  What are the different methods of selecting cells?
Ans: The different methods of selecting cells are:
Selecting Single cell: Move the mouse pointer on that cell and click once.
Selecting a range of cells: Click on the first cell of the range  and then drag the mouse pointer by pressing the left button to the last cell of the range.
k. What are rules for entering formula in the cell?
Ans: Rules for entering formula in the cell is given below:
i. Select the cell in which you want to get result.
ii. Type the equal sign (=)
iii) Type the formula
iv) Press the Enter key
l. What is formula bar? Why it is used?
Ans: In Ms-Excel just below the ribbon panel we can see the bar which is known as formula bar. It is used to enter and edit data and formula in the active cell. 
m. What is active cell?
Ans: The currently selected cell in the worksheet is known as the active cell. 
n. What is cell pointer?
Ans: In Excel worksheet, the mouse pointer changes into a plus sign that is called cell pointer.
o. What is cell range?
Ans: A group of cells which is selected is called cell range.
